Sister's Birthday Surprise!

Happy Birthday to my lil sis Rilee. I am so lucky to have such a sweet sister like Rilee. She is honestly one of the most compassionate people I know. Even though she is much younger than me I look up to her and have learned so much from her. I hope she knows how much she means to me and our family. She is there to always remind us what's important- to be nice to others and look out for those that need a friend. I will always admire her and her sweet spirit. Hears to Rilee!! I can't wait for the future and all the wonderful things that are in store for her. Hope you had a good day smalls:)

This is the surprise cake me and my Sis-in-law made for Rilee for her birthday party. Time consuming but so worth it!

No More Night Games for Me!!

About a month ago we got together with some of our friends to play some good old fashion night games. I haven't played night games in forever so i was pretty excited!!! We played a game called "Fugative." I had never played it before but once we got started I was lovin it. The basics of the game is for the "cops" to drive around in the car with a spotlight and try and catch you from going to point A to B. I am sure as you are reading this you are thinking to yourself: "Night games? Isn't she a little too old for this?" Well the answer is yes I am too old for night games or just accient prone. Cuz sure enough as I was hiding under some bushes I stood up to go run to the next hiding spot and my foot fell right in a window well and my face hit the metal part of the well on the other side.

When it first happened I was in shock and couldn't believe what I had done. I knew my face was bleeding pretty bad and i could tell it was by my eye. To make matters worse I was by myself and had to walk around the neighborhood for 10 minutes trying to find someone. After I finally found a few of our friends it took another 10 minutes to find Nash, he was still hiding.

To make a long story short, at that time we didn't have insurance and all the instant cares were closed because it was so late at night and it would have been a fortune to go to the ER so one of our friends knew a doctor in the neighborhood and I showed up at his door with a broken face:(. He was so kind and such a blessing to me. He drove us right to his clinic that he works at and stitched up my face. Still to this day I think how lucky and blessed I am that God put him in my path. I know it sounds cheesey but I really don't know what I would have done if it weren't for his kind act of service.

I am not sure if this experience happened to me because I needed to learn something. But I learned two important things:

1. I am too OLD to play night games

2. There are still good people out there doing nice things for others. I have really learned through this experience (once again cheesey i know!) how great service is. I am so grateful that Doctor hlelp me- a complete stranger. I will forever have a greater appreciation for little acts of kindness and service. I hope that one day I can pay it forward and help someone as much as he helped me.

And finally, I know this post is long but I want to be able to remember this expereince because it had taught me a lot and it's also a little humorous that I fell in a window well:) Thanks so much to my family and friends for the all the visits, phone calls, texts, and goodies. You all took such good care of me. I never knew I had so many people that care about me:) Thanks to my friend Malena for assisting the doctor with my stitches I am glad you were there! And one last special thanks to my husband. He was the best nurse I could of asked for. I love him so much and I am grateful he was so patient with me and waited on me hand and foot. Love you hun!

(One of my friends took a pic of me on the Doctors front porch thanks Kasey)

Dirty Dash 2011

This was our first year doing the "Dirty Dash" and it was by far the most fun I have had in a long time. Our friends Whit and Jared planned the whole thing and it was awesome thanks guys! The race was up at Soldier Hollow by Midway. We stayed in Park City Friday night and went to dinner, got in a hot tub made for 2 people (FYI there were 6 of us there) and played card games all night. Saturday was the race and I never imagined getting that dirty but I didn't mind it one bit. I hope we can keep it a tradition and do it every year!

Until Next Year!!

Fun in the SUN Lake Powell

Back in July we did our annual Lake Powell trip. This year Nash and I brought our Friends Lance and Malena. It was such a blast! I hope everyone else had as much fun as us.
WARNING: Pics overload

I have no idea what me and Day are doing here:

We had to make sure we got a pic of all of us: me wakeboarding, Lance & Nash junping off, and Malena enjoying the boat ride!
Every year we have a treasure hunt. Here is the treasure we found this year.

Finding the first clue.

While we were in LP the US Womens Soccer team made it the World Cup Finals. So we went to the only place in town that was showing it and cheered our team on.

Even though they lost we still had fun and were proud of our team!

More Updates for June

Summer has only begun and I already feel like there's lots to update. First off we had to say farewell to a girl that is like another sister to me. Max lived with my parents for a year while with an exchange program and she has fit in so perfect with our family. I will miss her so much but I am so grateful to have gotten to know her. I hope she learned as much from us as we learned from her. Love you Max and hope to come visit you in Spain one day:)

All the girls the day before she left:(

Back in April me, my mom, my sister, cousins, and aunts all ran the Realy section in the Ogden Marathon. And although I just ran the relay section it was still an accomplishment and maybe just maybe someday I will run a full marathon. (Highly doubt it though:) The race was very special to us all, we ran for my sweet nephew, Daniel Mark Jones. He passed away Thursday, May 19th and we ran the race a couple days later Saturday, May 21st. It was easy to keep going having him as our motivation. My mom, who is the most proud grandma there is, demolished everyone's times and ran the fastest she ever has. She said all she thought about was baby Dan. We sure miss our Miracle Dan but are so grateful he blessed our lives. We feel so lucky to know such a perfect angel.

(Here are the pins my Aunt made for us to wear during the race.)

Happy Birthday Hubby!

This last week has been filled with Brithday celebrations for my sweet hubby. He is 27 years young:) I love him more and more everyday and I'm so thankful he is in my life, he deserves nothing but the best on his birthday... so I made him the best present ever: Fruit Pizza

We started the celebrations off by going to Goodwood on Friday night with some close friends. Nash picked Goodwood because of their chicken sandwhich:) Then on Saturday Nash's dad threw him a BBQ in the afternoon. It was lots of fun and we were able to see our cute neice and nephew. After a nice long nap we did a little shopping (Nash's kind of shopping which is at the sports stores only lol) and then went to Cold Stone for some ice cream with friends. We ended the night by playing some cards at Lance and Malena's. Thanks guys it was lots of fun. The weekend parties ended on Sunday with a BBQ at my parents house for Nash and Lindsay's b-days and Max's going away party. I hope Nash had as much fun as I did this weekend. I sure love birthday celebrations!

I also wanted to give a birhtday shout out to my wonderful sister Lindsay. Hope you had a good birthday Linds. I love ya lots and think your one of the bravest and strongest women I have ever met. I know that Dan is looking down on you and feeling so proud and lucky to call you his mom:)

CALI & VegAS!

Back in April Nash and I went to Cali and Vegas. My parents have a foreign exchange student from Spain living with them and they wanted to take her to a couple different places before she leaves and we tagged along. I had never been to Disneyland or Vegas with Nash so it was fun to experience those places together. The first couple days we spent in Vegas and Max (the foreign exchange student) absolutely loved it there. Everything about Vegas was amazing to her and I found it a little funny because I have been there so much that I just dont think of it like that. But none the less she could not get over it and she said she will be going back to Vegas when she turns 21! After Vegas it was off to Cali where we spent most of our time at Disneyland and the beach. I love the beach and I am already wanting to go back there. Overall the trip was lots of fun and I am glad we could take a little vacation.
