No More Night Games for Me!!

About a month ago we got together with some of our friends to play some good old fashion night games. I haven't played night games in forever so i was pretty excited!!! We played a game called "Fugative." I had never played it before but once we got started I was lovin it. The basics of the game is for the "cops" to drive around in the car with a spotlight and try and catch you from going to point A to B. I am sure as you are reading this you are thinking to yourself: "Night games? Isn't she a little too old for this?" Well the answer is yes I am too old for night games or just accient prone. Cuz sure enough as I was hiding under some bushes I stood up to go run to the next hiding spot and my foot fell right in a window well and my face hit the metal part of the well on the other side.

When it first happened I was in shock and couldn't believe what I had done. I knew my face was bleeding pretty bad and i could tell it was by my eye. To make matters worse I was by myself and had to walk around the neighborhood for 10 minutes trying to find someone. After I finally found a few of our friends it took another 10 minutes to find Nash, he was still hiding.

To make a long story short, at that time we didn't have insurance and all the instant cares were closed because it was so late at night and it would have been a fortune to go to the ER so one of our friends knew a doctor in the neighborhood and I showed up at his door with a broken face:(. He was so kind and such a blessing to me. He drove us right to his clinic that he works at and stitched up my face. Still to this day I think how lucky and blessed I am that God put him in my path. I know it sounds cheesey but I really don't know what I would have done if it weren't for his kind act of service.

I am not sure if this experience happened to me because I needed to learn something. But I learned two important things:

1. I am too OLD to play night games

2. There are still good people out there doing nice things for others. I have really learned through this experience (once again cheesey i know!) how great service is. I am so grateful that Doctor hlelp me- a complete stranger. I will forever have a greater appreciation for little acts of kindness and service. I hope that one day I can pay it forward and help someone as much as he helped me.

And finally, I know this post is long but I want to be able to remember this expereince because it had taught me a lot and it's also a little humorous that I fell in a window well:) Thanks so much to my family and friends for the all the visits, phone calls, texts, and goodies. You all took such good care of me. I never knew I had so many people that care about me:) Thanks to my friend Malena for assisting the doctor with my stitches I am glad you were there! And one last special thanks to my husband. He was the best nurse I could of asked for. I love him so much and I am grateful he was so patient with me and waited on me hand and foot. Love you hun!

(One of my friends took a pic of me on the Doctors front porch thanks Kasey)

Here are a few Pics of my lovely face:

  1. Chels! I had no idea this happened!! I'm so sorry. Youre looking great though! And ps, you're not too old for night games. You're just accident prone. Don't you remember when we used to door bell ditch people? We were in hailee Martinez neighborhood, we had just door bell ditched someone and we were running to hide and you smacked your face on the crank thing of a basketball hoop...you had a black eye then too! Hahaha! We were crazy! And we still are. Can we do dinner please? I miss you so much!

  2. I wish I checked blogs more often...seriously Chelse that looked very painful. I can't say I'm surprised something like this happened to you (accident prone / you said it yourself) but I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm sure you feel better now, but I'm still in shock so let me have this moment :) I miss you and we need to get together again soon! Call or text me, I lost all my contacts.
